Meet the distinguished graduates dedicated to guiding the British Graduates Association Malaysia toward a future of excellence and national impact.
Datuk Kamarudin Md Ali serves as the President of BGAM, leading the association across consecutive terms since 2021. A highly accomplished British alumnus, he holds a BSc in Engineering from the University of Strathclyde (1976), an MSc from the University of Birmingham (1980), and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations from the Royal College of Defence Studies, London (2001). Professionally, he brings extensive leadership and governance experience to the committee in his current role as a Company Director.

Dato’ Azlin Ahmad Shaharbi serves as the Deputy President of BGAM. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Law from the University of Kent in 1986 and qualified as a Barrister-at-Law at the Inner Temple, London, in 1987. A seasoned legal professional, she is the Managing Partner of Azlin Shaharbi & Associates and the Founder and Head Coach of SembangLegal.com, combining her extensive experience as a practicing lawyer with professional legal coaching to support the community.

Datuk Hj. Mohd Lukhman serves as a Vice President of BGAM. A proud British alumnus, he holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Paisley (1985), a Bachelor of Business Administration from Keele University (2004), and an MBA from Dublin Metropolitan University (2009). Professionally, he is a member of the Institute of Marketing Malaysia and serves as a parliamentary Special Officer. Within BGAM, he naturally anchors the vital portfolio of government liaison, bridging relations and driving strategic institutional connections.

Tomy Yong serves as a Vice President of BGAM. An alumnus of the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, he holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B Eng) in Industrial Engineering. Professionally, Tomy operates within corporate advisory as a Financial Services Provider specializing in Unclaimed Moneys. Within the committee, he channels his dynamic energy into leading BGAM’s sports and recreational initiatives, fostering vibrant engagement, teamwork, and active networking opportunities among the alumni community.

CK Liew serves as a Vice President of BGAM. He is an alumnus of the University of Dundee, graduating in 1981 with a B.Sc in Civil Engineering. A Company Director with a solid foundation in project execution, CK transitions his structural organization skills directly into the committee. He works in close partnership with the Deputy President and the executive team to spearhead the organizational framework and operational logistics of BGAM’s premier annual dinner and fundraising initiatives.

Richard Gan Hock Hoe serves as a Vice-President of BGAM. He is an alumnus of the University of Essex, where he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Economics in 1985. The Principal of real estate agency Umegar Realty, Richard combines deep economic insight with entrepreneurial leadership. Within the committee, he leverages his extensive corporate network to co-spearhead BGAM’s annual dinner and fundraising task force, driving commercial sponsorships and strategic partnerships to ensure the financial success of the association's premier events.

Garry Chow serves as the Honorary Secretary of BGAM. He is an alumnus of the University of Wolverhampton, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.). A versatile legal professional, he applies his extensive expertise across multiple disciplines as a practicing Lawyer, Mediator, and Corporate Trainer and Coach. Garry brings strong organizational governance, analytical skill, and professional communication experience to his vital administrative role within the BGAM executive committee.

Peter Choo serves as the Assistant Honorary Secretary of BGAM. He is an alumnus of the University of Strathclyde, where he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1997. As a corporate leader currently serving as Chief Executive Officer, Peter brings high-level executive management, strategic planning experience, and operational insight to his administrative role, helping to drive the growth, governance, and initiatives of the BGAM executive committee.

S. Meyyappa Manickam serves as the Honorary Treasurer of BGAM. He obtained his professional qualification from the UK-based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2007. A seasoned financial specialist, he currently practices as a Chartered Accountant and is also an accredited HRD Corp Trainer. Meyyappa leverages his deep expertise in financial governance, auditing, and professional training to ensure the fiscal integrity and robust strategic financial management of the BGAM executive committee.

Foo Jong Wee serves as a BGAM EXCO Member and plays a vital role as the association’s Membership Chair. Graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 1983 with a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, he applies his structured analytical background to his career as a successful Businessman. In his committee role, he strategically leads the initiative to recruit new members, driving the growth, network expansion, and long-term sustainability of the BGAM community.

Steven Fung serves as a BGAM EXCO Committee Member. A highly distinguished British alumnus, he graduated from the University of Oxford in 1982 with a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence (Law). With decades of legal practice under his belt, Steven is recognized as a deeply experienced Lawyer. Within the committee, he quietly anchors BGAM’s legal framework and internal disciplinary matters, bringing top-tier legal intellect, analytical sharpness, and invaluable regulatory oversight to the association’s governance.

Adelin Yong Sue Wen serves as a BGAM EXCO Committee Member. She is an alumnus of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, where she graduated with a Masters in Pharmacy (MPharm) in 2010. Professionally practicing as a Pharmacist, she combines her clinical precision with a passion for community building. Within the committee, Adelin takes charge of critical portfolios, driving BGAM’s youth outreach initiatives and managing key collaborative relationships with the British Council.

A retired property developer, Dolly leverages her extensive commercial leadership and corporate network to curate high-impact engagement events, fostering strong connections across the BGAM alumni community.

An alumnus of Keele University, he graduated in 1994 with a BA (Hons) in International Relations and currently leads professionally as an Executive Chairman. Within the committee, Adrain anchors the essential portfolios of education policy alongside alumni and university liaison, strategically shaping the association's educational direction and fostering robust, collaborative pipelines between BGAM, British universities, and the graduate community.

Mariam Ibrahim serves as a BGAM EXCO Committee Member. She is an alumna of the University of South Wales (formerly the University of Glamorgan), holding both an LLB (Hons) and an LLM in Commercial Dispute Resolution. Within the committee, Mariam applies her organizational expertise to coordinate member activities, special portfolios, and charity drives, while actively collaborating on BGAM's social media presence to enhance community engagement and connect graduates across the network.

Ir. Dr. Aidil Chee Tahir serves as a BGAM EXCO Committee Member. A highly accomplished alumnus, he attended Malvern College before earning an MEng from Imperial College London (2001) and a DPhil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford (2007). Professionally a Financial Investor, he applies his extensive background to his committee portfolio, where he works collaboratively to drive BGAM’s youth outreach initiatives and strengthen the association's strategic relationships with the British Council.

Shirliza Ann Sedai serves as a BGAM EXCO Committee Member, bringing her expertise to the team as the association's Social Media and Website Coordinator. She is an alumna of the University of Strathclyde, where she earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2022. She is a Licensed Financial Planner and wealth consultant, specializing in holistic financial advisory and protection strategies. Shirliza leverages her strong communication skills and digital expertise to drive BGAM’s online presence and member engagement.
